Human Resource Management Overview:

Human Resource Management (HRM) encompasses the strategic and organized leadership of internal
personnel, who contribute to achieving business objectives.
The primary areas of concern include:
Human Resources (Personnel) Administration
Study and practice of managing an organization's human resources:
           Recruitment
           Selection
           Retention
           Development
           Assessment
           Adjustment of personnel
Personnel Management—Expansion of Human Resources Administration to encompass full
maximization usage of an organization's human resources.
Industrial Management—the systematic management of all aspects of the factory.
Industrial Relations—Relationship between management and workers and the behavior of workers
within companies.
Overall theory is based on the assumption that employees are independent organizational resources
with varying goals and needs. In addition, employees are viewed as an important and necessary
element for organizational success.  The intent is to support employee goals and needs in an effort to
remove the obstacles for compliance with organizational objectives.
